Homemade body scrub

Exfoliation of the skin is very important. It helps with blood circulation and removes the dead cells that make the skin look dull and dry. However it's not recommended that you do it too often because it can be irritating to the skin. So, you must be gentle to the skin when exfoliating.

These are my two favorite recipes :

1.First recipe :

    - 1 cup of sugar
    - 1/2 cup olive oil
        (extra virgin would be better)

Mix them together and apply the scrub in circular motions. You can add a little more olive oil if you don't like the texture or if it feels too rough for you.
While sugar will exfoliate, olive oil will nourish and smooth your skin. Olive oil is rich in all kinds of nutrients, antioxidants, and vitamins which are great for the body. If you don't like the smell of it add some drops of essential oils.
Do not apply it on oily areas of you body because it may cause the skin to break out. Exfoliate those areas with a bath brush instead. Concentrate on your knees, elbows and feet but don't be harsh to your skin.
I use this recipe once in 2 or 3 weeks and I exfoliate with a brush weekly.

2.Second recipe :

   -  2 cups of coffee grounds
   - 1/2 cup of sugar (or sea salt, but I prefer sugar)
   - 1 tablespoon of almond oil (or any other carrier massage oil if you are allergic to almonds, or if  you don't prefer almond oil)

Mix the 3 ingredients and apply on wet skin, again using circular motions. Do this in the bathroom before taking a shower because you wouldn't want to make a mess. Except the exfoliation part, the caffeine (which is in coffee, tea etc) will help prevent cellulite and varicose veins and also diminish their appearance. It also will make your skin firmer.
Don't use this recipe if you are sensitive to caffeine.
