How to have clear skin naturally

I have mentioned in one of my posts that I use sweet almond oil as a make up remover. I have acne prone and oily skin but the almond oil has never caused any acne to my skin. It just feels a little heavy on my face. I get acne only when I forget to clean my face and the oil traps bacteria inside my pores. Oil doesn't cause acne. The causes are trapped bacteria ,dirt and hormones. So after doing some research I read that Jojoba oil is more suitable to oily skins and I gave it a shot. I wasn't disappointed. Jojoba oil is way lighter, removes my make up very well and I'm very happy to use it on my face. It's been a week since I've have started a new routine for my face and it has worked amazingly good. My acne disappeared in 2 days ( I don't get a lot of acne, just a few but they stay too long on my face and this really annoys me).So here it is:

1. First I remove my make up with jojoba oil. Or when I don't have make up on I just clean my face with jojoba oil(using cotton pads). I know it maybe sounds absurd to clean your face with oils, especially when you have an oily skin but it isn't.(also jojoba oil actually isn't an oil if you read my post linked above)

Read this quote from acne.org :

Oil dissolves oil. One of the most basic principals of chemistry is that “like dissolves like.” The best way to dissolve a non-polar solvent like sebum/oil, is by using another non-polar solvent similar in composition: other oils. By using the right oils, you can cleanse your pores of dirt and bacteria naturally, gently and effectively, while replacing the dirty oil with beneficial ones extracted from natural botanics, vegetables and fruit that heal, protect and nourish your skin. When done properly and consistently, the OCM can clear the skin from issues like oily skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, blackheads, whiteheads and other problems caused by mild to moderate acne–while leaving your skin healthy, balanced and properly moisturized.”

2. Then I take a clean towel, get it a little wet with water and gently rub my face.
3. The first time I did this I took a tomato and cut the top of it horizontally, put sugar on it and used it as a face scrub. Do this once or twice a week. And every other day just use that slice of tomato without the sugar and rub it on your face. Leave it on for 5-10 min and rinse with cool water. The tomato will remove excess oils and will help you with acne.

4. The last thing I do : In 2/3 cup of water I add 2 tablespoons lemon juice(make sure it's fresh). I apply it on my face with a cotton pad. I leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse it off with cool water.

Lemon fruit acids are ideal for gentle exfoliation. Lemon’s nutrients detoxify, repair and renew skin from the inside out. They're going to tone your skin, fight wrinkles, clean your pores and brighten your skin.

Both tomatoes and lemons have astringent properties.

I can't guarantee that this will work for everyone but it's worth giving it a try. If you want you can use them in the order you like, use the lemon first , the tomato and then the oil to nourish the skin. Whatever works best for you. It's amazing that we have natural choices. I have given up using harsh chemicals on my skin. All the cleansers I've used have made my skin either too dry or flaky and then my face would burst into oil to compensate for the oil that the cleanser had stripped from my skin.
An advice: Don't pick on your acne. I know they are very unpleasant looking and you better squeeze them out so at least you can cover the spot with make-up,but you'll just make them worse. You'll break out at the same spots the very next day. And you risk getting red marks. If the reason for your acne is hormonal then you really should check with your doctor.

  4. Great tips! I have the same skin type as you, and for any skin type the major cause of acne and many other skin conditions is eating refined/processed foods. Cut out all processed foods (especially sugars and gluten) and you will notice a HUGE change in your body :) Your skin is the largest organ that your body has and when you overload your body with stuff that's not good for it your skin will start expelling toxins just like your other organs.
