Stretch marks

If you don't know what stretch marks are and how they're caused you can start here. I will share with you my experience and I really hope it helps. I know that stretch marks are a nightmare and if we can't fully get rid of them ,then we'll do our best to improve our skin and make them less visible.

I gain and lose weight easily and that's the reason why I got stretch marks nearly 4 years ago. And I continued getting them for a very long time. I have them on my breasts, butt, thighs and on the back part of my knees. When they first appear they're supposed to  be pink, reddish, purple or brown depending on your skin color and they gradually fade to white or silver. I noticed mine when they were white and in this stage they're considered permanent. There's nothing you can do to get rid of them completely(except surgery or laser treatments).
If you have gotten them recently, then there is still hope for you. I had no information about stretch marks back then and when I noticed they were getting worse I asked my father for help (both my parents are pharmacists) and he told me that I couldn't do anything about them, but I could prevent getting new ones and improve my skin elasticity. Now, you can be sure that those expensive lotions that claim to repair and treat stretch marks DON'T work. So he gave me sweet almond oil. I have used it daily and I have noticed so much improvement I can't believe it. I wish I had taken a pic to show you the progress. :(

1) Moisturize your skin.

Apart from sweet almond oil , I know that other women have managed to get rid of fresh stretch marks with Cocoa butter, Shea butter and Grape seed oil. You can use them combined..for example: Shea butter in the morning and grape seed in the evening..Do whatever you feel that works best for your skin.
Exfoliate the affected areas (twice a week is enough) before applying the oil/butter.
The reason why lemon is applied on stretch marks is to make the skin absorb the oil faster and better.

2) Apply the oils/butters constantly throughout the day.
At least twice. Don't expect to see results if you skip days or weeks without treating your skin.

3) Firm your skin.
When your skin isn't toned and especially when you have cellulite, stretch marks appear much worse. Search for some firming exercises or go swimming. I mainly recommend swimming because water is 800 times denser than air and you get to put to work every muscle of your body.

4) Add more fruits and vegetables to your diet. Drink more water. I know you've heard this a thousand times but it is very important.
A balanced diet makes a big difference.

5) Don't give up too soon. I know that when it comes to this things, when we don't see immediate results we tend to give up easily.
My skin has improved so much that the area where the stretch marks are, feels so soft to the touch. In the beginning that area was rough and the skin was slightly raised to the touch. That was what I hated more and now it feels smooth just like the rest of my skin.

I took this picture today. It looks a little better than reality(haha),but I did my best to capture a clear picture. You can see the white lines on my thigh. I sharpened the same picture several times to make the lines more defined so you can see where the stretch marks really are and how prominent they would be without treating them. It took me 5 months to see a significant change so, hang in there.Don't get demotivated.
If you have any questions ask me in the comments below :)
