Rose water

This time I will be sharing with you what benefits I've noticed on my skin from using rose water. I've been using it for a month and I'm truly happy with the results.
First I have to say that my skin is thin, sensitive and oily. I haven't used any cleanser for the first two weeks on my face because I wanted to see only the benefits of rose water. I've used it twice a day(morning-evening) using a cotton pad and spraying it directly on my face.

What it does:

-It removes dirt off skin.
-Removes excess oil. For a week or two you'll notice that (mostly in the morning) your skin will produce more oil than it naturally does. This is normal and you should give your skin time to adjust and balance oil production.(I've explained why this happens in the "No poo method"post).
-Those with normal, dry or sensitive skin can use only rose water to clean their skin. If your pores clog easily(oily skin types) or you don't want to take any risks, I recommend using a mild(gel)cleanser on that area. For those with oily+ sensitive or thin skin is necessary to use a mild cleanser. Avoid any harsh ingredients like SLS-s, fragrances etc.

-Evens out skin tone and brightens complexion. This is one of the things I love most about rose water. For even better results those that don't have a sensitive/thin skin can exfoliate(gently)  beforehand.
-Hydrates(of course).Your skin will look fresh and dewy.
-Tones the skin.
-Broken capillaries(if you have any) will be less visible than before.
-I haven't noticed my pores to have shrunk, but I believe that those with non oily skins will have visible results.
-I discovered this one by accident and I'm very happy to share it with you. Before I went out one day, I used rose water on my face and I only applied foundation only under my eyes.(I didn't use concealer because I haven't found a good one yet.)When I came back after 6 hours it looked the same as when I applied it.I don't know if it will work as a make-up setting spray but I think you should give it a try or just apply it underneath foundation and see how it works.I do this every time I go out now and it really works great for me.
-I've been getting less white heads and pimples.

How to use it on HAIR:

-Before showering apply some on the ends of your hair(if they're dry, damaged and non elastic) and coat them with oil. I use macadamia, but you can use any oil that you want, Shea butter or a leave in conditioner. Anything that can coat the hair to keep the moisture in.
-After you have showered apply some rose water on your scalp and roots. Don't do it before  because your hair strands will be coated with oils so it won't penetrate the hair and it would be useless. It is said that rose water promotes hair growth but I still should use it for a longer period of time to see if it works or not.

WARNING: Please do a skin patch test before using rose water. My mother had a severe allergy reaction and her skin at the spot where she did the test became inflamed.

There are people who like to make their own products so here is a tutorial on how to make rose water :

  4. I have oily thin sensitive skin on my face. I have tried rose water to cleanse my face, but as you said I see more oil in the morning and started getting more acne. Did you mean to cleanse the face with a cleanser after applying rose water? How much time should I leave the rose water on my face to get better results?
